Bland, stodgy, boring and uninteresting! A fair description of our culinary heritage? I think not! More Tea, Vicar? is a shameless defence of the British eating experience, and an exploration of its magnificent traditions and heritage. Does British food deserve the bad reputation it has on the international culinary circuit? Granted it’s not nouvelle cuisine (a.k.a. small portions, high price), intricate garnishes, or exotic aromatics. British food is traditional, homely, warming and comforting. It is versatile, practical and loyal. Between rants and raves, comments and discussions, you'll find a selection of our favourite recipes, reviews of new and established restaurant, tea shops and eateries, cookbooks and kitchen gadgets. - Food Commentary and Articles

Now More Tea, Vicar? usually focuses on British food, but to celebrate the France's Bastille Day on 14th July and the love/hate relationship which our two nations seem to enjoy we've got a little competition lined up. Let us not forget that France has given us some of the World's tastiest food. Not to mention patisseries to indulge the sweetest of tooth.
Two winning French foodie fans will be receiving a £5 voucher for Tray Gourmet, the home of French food in London. Based in Chelsea this family run traiteur sells a selection of products from France as well as some of the tastiest sandwiches in London. To enter couldn't be simpler: Post below the name of your favourite French restaurant in the UK and tell us all why this places really does it for you. Entries must be posted by 14th July 2009 at 8pm and should give the name and location of the restaurant and your reason for loving it so much. The two winning entries will be picked out of the chappeau. The Rules: - Entries must be posted by 8pm on 14th July 2009.
- As we are asking for your favourite restaurant, only one entry per person is permitted. When there are multiple posts only the first will be counted.
- Entries must detail the name and location of the restaurant and the rationale for it being your favourite. Entries which do not contain all three of these details will not be counted.
- Winning entries will be picked out at random after the closing date.
