Have you ever dreamed that American dream? The perfectly manicured lawns of house on Wisteria Lane. Immaculately white porch. And the smell of baking wafting down the street. Well forget the house, the lawn and the porch. But Winona's Organic can certainly help you with the delicious smells of freshly baked cookies.
Winona's story is as charming as her cookies and bakes. Having grown up in what she descibes as a baking house, and she has used the memories of her childhood to re-create some true deliciousness. Baking is a passion of mine and I agree with her that baking with love makes the goodies taste all the more sumptuous. And there really is nothing like the warm smell of cookies, brownies or cupcakes baking to get the tastebuds salivating. There is something warm and homly about a kitchen filled with sweet smells. Winona has captured this little dream and balanced it with the hectic lifestyles of today's moms (or dads). Her ready to bake chilled doughs just require cutting, shaping and baking. I sampled the Oat and Raisin Cookies, which I baked as soon as I got home from the Real Food Festival in Earls Court (May 2009) where I had met Winona. The hint of coconut added a nice twist as I tucked in fresh from the oven. All of Winona's products are certified organic by the Soil Association. Whilst I think that everyone should try baking from scratch, producing great bakes is a skill. Winona gives people that great baking experience.
